Hi Darren,
Welcome.  I too am a newcomer to this, just getting my feet wet on the Mach-3 side. Have been cnc plasma cutting for about 8 years.
I hope you will experience similar to what happened to a friend a few years back,  He had learned Solidworks and was getting pretty good at drawing but wen he brought a drawing file over and we made and assembled the parts, he got this strange look on his face and said,"Had no idea that actually MAKING STUFF was a trip!" ,

Finally getting started with my Chinese 6040.  Getting a handle on motor configuration, scale is pretty close.  One question (among many) is: "Is there a way to enlarge the display that shows what is going on?"  On my monitor, it is about 2 inches square.  I have a large monitor with lots of unused space to the right of the MACH 3 display.
Thanks in advance.

I must say that with my Chinese 6040 router/mill, the seller never claimed it included a licensed copy of Mach-3 only that the "demo version" included could run the machine. So I guess they get a pass on that one (I opted to buy a real copy).  On the other hand they included a Chinese language copy of AutoCad 2004 also unusable.

Good to know, although after a glance, it is obvious that the more economical route is to pay the very reasonable license fee and get the real deal.  i just need to scrub my drive and make sure as I can that there are no remnants of the corrupt program.
As a 9 year user of PlasmaCam, I am accustomed to hearing users fork out $998 for each upgrade, so $175 is a true bargain.
Still just getting started.

The more I read, the happier I am that I could not load the Mach 3 that came with my 6040 from Ebay. None of the files were in English and the Mach 3 was corrupted and would not load.  I decided to just come here and get the real program. Just getting ports & pins sorted out and working on controlling the spindle.
Any idea where to access the real Mach 3 manual in English?

I just bought a Chinese made 6040 (Ebay) It came with a software disk that purported to have the demo Mach 3 as well as other software as well as instructions on how to avoid having to purchase the license. The disk would only show Chinese characters so I opted to go to Artsoft and download the real Mach 3 to be sure.
At least the machine appears to be well built and solid.

Hi All.
New guy here.  I have been doing 2D Plasma cutting with a DHC PlasmaCam for about                      9 years, but this 3D stuff is all new to this old dog.  Just got a 6040 router/mill (Ebay).  Have gotten as far as loading Mach 3, setting pins & ports (mostly) and tuning                                                                                                                                                   motors to the point where I can move in XY&Z & A. Need all the help I can!
