General Mach Discussion / Re: Drivers only power up for a short time
« on: March 02, 2017, 03:39:40 AM »

My luck,,
forgot to say this problem always happens nearly everytime I switch on in mornings, the very odd morning its ok,   and this is one of them,
so checked power on supply end, power is staying the same 48.1 v,
but I suppose can not check for sure now when problem is not there today

but I would be happy if I have to leave switch 4 to off, for it to work ok,
when I walk away from machine I always hit reset button on mach 3 anyway.

would you be the man to ask this,

could I send a rough break down on what I have ,ie  what rack/pinion, pinion size,  tooth belt reduction size, what steps I have drivers set to, etc
just to make sure I am running the motors as smooth as I can,

regards.

Hi all, great forum u guys have going
I have built a couple of small cnc tables before, now this one is bigger and running duel x axis motor and one single y axis
Anyway have couple of issues. When I turn on Mach 3 on computer and turn on power to the power supply for drivers, no green led is lit on drivers, which is normal,  when I hit reset on Mach3 drivers power up and green leds on and motors lock but within 5 sec drivers switch off or loose power.
Then when I move any axis, drivers power up again for another short while
Only way round it is to keep moving axis for about a minute and then drivers will stay powered,  it's not a big problem but am afraid of maybe doing long term damage

Regards
