Thanks. I'll do that.

The drive is a Gecko 540.

I'm not well up on what's inside, but I believe it may use a smooth stepper, if that makes sense.

dspMC/IP Motion Controller / Spindle speed override problem
« on: November 22, 2016, 06:28:09 PM »
I purchased a Denford Novamill, and initially it worked fine.
Somehow the setting were changed (probily by me), and now when I try to use the spindle speed override, the spindle starts spinning at full speed. This happens when I reduce speed or increase speed.
I know it's something to do with the Mach3 settings, but I'm not an expert with computers, and don't want to upset anything else.
The machine has Gecko drivers, and the communication between the Pc and Mill is through an ethernet cable instead of Serial.
If someone could point me in the right direction (what menus to look in ect.) I'd be very grateful.
  Thanks in advance.
 Garry

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / Spindle speed override problem
« on: October 19, 2016, 11:56:54 AM »
I'm trying to use the spindle override to increase the spindle speed to a higher value to optimise the cutting speed on my Denford Nova milling machine.
As soon as I increase the percentage, the spindle rotates at full wack. i have to then stop the programme running and restart the spindle at the correct speed using an MDI M3 command, before starting the programme running again.
i'm not to knowledgeable with the deeper workings of computers, so if anybody is willing to offer advice, could you please keep it simple.
The machine i'm using has "Gecko" drivers, and is linked to the PC by Ethernet cable, rather than a serial connection.
  Thanks in advance.

Hi.
My name is Garry. I live in the UK. i'm an Experienced Toolmaker and Experimental Engineer.
I've joined the group to ask for help with a small problem i have with Mach3, I can also offer help to other members with Engineering problems if I can.
 My problem.....
When using the Spindle speed Override, the spindle, instead of increasing in percentage increments, turns the spindle to max R.P.M.
This isn't a major problem, just an inconvenience, but is a handy facility to have.
Iv;e tried looking in configuration, but cant see anything that would alter the Spindle speed settings other than the calibration facility. I'm far from being an expert when it comes to the inner workings of computers, so a simple explanation would be best for me to understand.
Thanks in advance for any help.
