General Mach Discussion / Need ArtSoft Mach3 tutorials offline
« on: October 02, 2016, 09:54:54 PM »
Need to be able to watch these in my shop where there is no wifi- http://www.machsupport.com/videos/
Can't find them on utube and unlike utube, there seems to be no way to copy them.
Any ideas?

Thanx, Alan

General Mach Discussion / Why did my keyboard manual control stop working?

Why did my keyboard manual control stop working?
It worked fine for a few weeks, then suddenly it is gone.
The key numbers are still saved and I even re-input all of them, with no luck.
Any ideas?

This was a temporary spindle until I could afford something better, so I guess I will just manually control it, which works fine.
The only thing I don't like about that is that the pot that came with it only has about a quarter turn throw, so it may be difficult to get exactly the right speed.

Finally found some instruction for my BOB and got it set up per them.
Now as soon as the BOB receives 5v from the computer, the spindle starts.
I can do spindle calibration as long as Mach 3 agrees that the spindle is running, by tapping start/stop until it recognizes start.
The spindle is continuing to run the whole time.

I got my spindle to turn on via Mach 3, but when it is on Mach 3 thinks it is off and vice versa.

No speed control, seems to be at full speed.

Any ideas?

Thanx, Alan

OK, I have it working but not right.

When Mach 3 thinks the motor is on, it is off and vice versa.

Very strange.

Am using a Chinese Bob shown here-

I can find all kinds of instruction for wiring a spindle with an inverter, but I am using a simple DC spindle, shown here-

https://dzevsq2emy08i.cloudfront.net/paperclip/technology_image_uploaded_images/24938/default/30416-01300WDCspindle.jpg?1400187119

It came with it's own speed control board, but it gives no indication of speed, so would like to control it thru mach 3 if possible.

Anyone done this and can tell me how or provide a wiring diagram?

Thanx, Alan
