General Mach Discussion / What breakout kit / board can I use with my siemens 611 drives.
« on: February 10, 2016, 10:33:47 PM »
I have an old archaic tired turning center with simodrive 611 drives and servo's. What breakout board will communicate with my drives, or do I have to replace them.
Can someone reccomend a brand or kit of drives that would make this process as easy as possible.
What I require to be able to control
--- X Z and Spindle speed.
--- Coolant on off.
-- Hydraulic system on / off.
-- Hydraulic turret
-- hydraulic tailstock.
-- hydraulic chuck.
Would anyone on here be able to do as "turnkey" as possible of a kit for me? The whole idea of going to mach3/4 is to salvage some life out of this old girl. The control is pretty much shot but the iron is good. I don't wan't to spend a ton eiether, and would only do the project if I can salvage my drives and motors.
