I'm in the process of bypassing the controller for the spindle motor and using the speed operation independently. If that overcomes the issues, then it will be a full upgrade with UCCNC & AXBB-E

Thanks Craig. It is a starting point for me and will feed back in a week or so when back from hols. I will also reload Mach3 as a chum suggested that may even help (it did for him when he had a strange issue).

I'm looking for some pointers as to where to start!

I have a Syil X4+ that is used from time to time and recently I have found it very frustrating. When running a job, the spindle will stop mid job and then immediately start up again and repeats it until I press the e-stop. Now, the last job was:
1.3mm rectangular cut (with radii) in ally and a very slow feed using an 8mm cutter.
I can get the spindle to slow down using my hands but I can't stop it. However, a 3mm slot drill will stop it - and break the cutter! So I suspect it is software related rather than the motor.
Any thoughts as to where I should start looking?

I don't have any problem editing either the 'index.tap' or the New 'Program.tap' files, if that is what you mean.

Tried an earlier version of the NFS Wizards but it does not run. Could you confirm the Version of Mach3/NFS you used?

Thanks for looking, Matt

Ah well, thanks for trying.

Yes, I have pressed the calc buttons and even tried to enter my own values to no avail.

If relevant at all, the 'preview' option displays nothing as well.

I'll resort to manual Gcoding...

These are the gear dimensions (although it doesn't seem to matter)

Spiral cut? Have you tried a standard spur gear?

The feed direction is required as there is a rotary table in the way and quite a large gear to cut - if that is what you mean.

I hope this explains a little further. Below is the Gcode the index.tap subroutine file:

G01 Y57 F1
G01 X40 F101.7
G00 Y60
X0
G01 Y56 F1
G01 X40 F101.7
G00 Y60
X0
G91 A6
G90
M99

The issue is with the Y moves. The feed for Y is F1.
The 'F1' equates to the material I have selected in the wizard.
This changes and equates directly to the material number - ie if I select material 4 then the feed becomes F4 etc etc.
The material.txt file appears to be fine (default) and if you add a new material, say 10, then, you guessed it, F10 is inserted into the G code.

I can only assujme it is a bug.

Is it possible to install the older NFS Wizards?
