General Mach Discussion / Lathe spindle problem

on a 3 axis lathe (x,z)linear axis one rotary axis and it is used as spindle for lathe
when I configure the 3 axis c axis (port 1 step pin 3 and direction pin 4) it works well
but when I configure as spindle same pins on motor outputs tab and set Use spindle motor output &&step/dir Motor on spindle setup tab , computer doesn't send any pulse or direction signal to servo
what can be the problem
