General Mach Discussion / cnc bed not level
« on: September 24, 2008, 04:39:19 PM »
Hi All, can anyone help me with a problem i have with my cnc table, its not true (level) keeps moving. What i have been doing is putting a slave board on the bed and skimming it, its just mdf so i can just screw blocks into it to hold the piece im working on, is there anything out ther that i can link to mach 3 like a probe or somthing that automatically adjusts the hight of the tool to always stay true to the bed ??

Cheers

General Mach Discussion / leadscrew motor power
« on: January 15, 2008, 02:46:23 PM »
hi, i am using 16mm - 4mm pitch leadscrew with quite powerfull motors on my cnc, the x axis is 2000mm length, i do suffer from spindle whip if i run it at speed, so i have to have it running very slow, i can get some ballscrew 50mm - 14mm pitch, my question is, if the motors are running slow do i get more force out of them, ie bigger screw, higher pitch, slower motor speed, will ther be less chance of the motors struggling, and things can be speeded up a bit ??

many thanks

« on: December 12, 2007, 12:49:44 PM »
hi, just tried to set up my limit switch just on the y axis to make sure i get it right, i used the auto setup for inputs and it worked a treat, problem now is my e stop just comes on when it wants to . ive looked at the diagnostics page and no little yellow lights appear when my e stop lights up to say a limit switch has been triggered, the limit swiches are brand new ive tried a number of them and it still happens. anyone got any ideas what im doing wrong ????

many thanks
