Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Simulate Probe Strike
« on: April 19, 2017, 03:21:12 PM »
I wanted to same thing! i have button configured. In diagnostics and logging the probe led and signal 161 are changing. But it has no effect on MACH probing in a clean mach4 install in demo mode.

Excel works fine for fitting 2nd order and other models. This tool was never intended to you with pcb milling. It was intended as a quick global slope correction tool. The real pity is your assumption that your setup was 2nd order and you spent time on it. As another poster mentioned, there is a perfectly good tool for pcbs.

Variation over travel might not be constant, ie error linear with distance. You might be able to using screw mapping to map and eliminate the variation.

Take a screen of the part with the pocket operation open on the heights tab. You probably have the contour at the top of the pocket or the heights set incorrectly.

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: MACH4 - Modbus
« on: June 19, 2015, 03:28:33 PM »
I downloaded Mach4 yesterday. Played a little. Not sure if it worth continuing....

I setup a Arduino Mega that is working nicely in Mach3.
I am reading 12 holding registers in Mach3, with minimum 25ms function configs. No problem.
Its a setup a RTU serial function running at 57600baud. I setup the same in Mach4 today.

Reads at 900ms polling interval.
At 900ms the modbus diagnostic tool says the transactions are taking 23-24ms.

Polling rate of 800 or less and it fails and says timeout!!!

I have read from this device faster than 25ms outside the Mach world.

Whats up with Mach4?
I searched polling interval on here and other terms. Nothing.
Only doc (poppabear) say something about only getting 600ms cycle times.

Can Mach4 actually read modbus at any useable rate?

General Mach Discussion / Re: MX4660 from Leadshine

malgazz
My machine is based on a XZero Raptor (48"x30"), 6" clearance under gantry, but 12" z travel.
As mentioned, i using an Mach3, an ESS controller, Leadshine 4660 drive and Leadshine 57HS22 motors.
Spindle is a 2.2kW Tekno (electric fan cooled version) with a Delta VFD.
Here are the schematics for my machine.

I probably would do some things a little different now, but we started with the 3660 and the machine has evolved as we have used it.

Ill post a couple pic of the electrical cabinet and machine later.

This explains modbus and your question pretty well.
