Yeah, I found the properties window. The problem was that I wasn't double clicking the DROs.

Thanks for the help

Thanks, maybe I'll try Screen4. Sounds like it might be easier.

I tried MachScreen, I can get my screenset opened and add buttons, DROs, ect, but I couldn't figure out how to assign numbers or view the existing DRO numbers. I'll have to keep working with it till I figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks

I have a plasma set screen with custom DROs. I am trying to figure out the UserDRO numbers for writing VB script. I found them at one time, but now I can't remember how. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Re: Motor noise question

Slaved axis is the same as the Y axis. I have the pulse set up as active low on all the motors. I'll try changing to active high on the pulse and see if that does it.

General Mach Discussion / Motor noise question
« on: January 19, 2015, 06:16:58 PM »
I bought a used gantry plasma table and got it running the other day with an ess smoothstepper. No matter what my settings are in motor tuning or the ess pluggin, I still get a grinding noise on the Y axis at low speed. The  X and Z sound great. I haven't changed the factory wiring on the motors. I had to use active high on one of the Y motors direction signal to get it to turn the right direction. Just wondering if running one motor on active lo and the other on active high could be giving me problems. Any advice is appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / Re: How does m code control plasma?

Why don't you just copy your profile and rename the copy "Plasma"? All you should have to do then is change M3 and M5.

Thanks, I'm new to this and talked my boss into buying a used plasma table. Now the pressure is on to get it up and running and I'm wondering what I got myself into. :) Your answer helps clarify things.

Ok, so my problem is that reading through past discussions, I have seen people state that some of Mach's thc logic is written on the port driver. No one ever explains exactly what thc functions will be lost by not installing the port driver.

BLM,
So you've used the Ethernet smoothstepper with the Mach internal thc logic? I thought a lot of the thc  functions were on the port driver. I'm not trying to challenge you, I just can't find a straight answer about using the ess smoothstepper with a thc. I don't really want to get away from the 64 bit, I just need a torch height control that works with the ess smoothstepper and has some sort of manual control for slow speed oxy\fuel on thick plate. Any suggestions would be great.
