General Mach Discussion / machine coordinates
« on: January 06, 2020, 09:54:38 PM »
Since I made my first post I have managed to correct the slow jog of my machine I've spent hours trying to understand what went wrong when I installed an x box controller on my machine in doing so I seem to have made the drops go to extreme numbers. I have tried getting everything back to zero but haven't been very successful in doing so. I have taken a couple pics of my screens and would appreciate any help, I'm not a machinist just got involved because of my art.

thanks
Lavalais

General Mach Discussion / machine speed

I brought my computer into my house to attach a xbox controller I had problems getting on the internet from my shop with xp so I set it up next to my router and finally got the right files to download I set up the controller but when I brought my computer back into my work space and reconnected it is where my problem begins it jogs to the work piece, and then everything slows down the z barley moves the x and y axis also move very slowly.  Ive tried everything with re running the motors they seem to run fine with no g code but as soon as I load something and press start it does the same thing.  Ive tried all youtube help but can't seem to figure it out or correct what's happening is it possible that the pin in the parrell ports broken should I replace the cable. or is there something I have overlooked

Thanks I increased the acceleration of the x and y axis my test cut came out ok much better than before but I’m afraid as to where I should push it I also couldn’t cut the cv light off should I just push the acceleration until it looks correct how do I turn off the cv light

Thanks !  I gave that a try it didn't seem to work on my key board i pressed the Cltr - Alt keys  i know the key board is working because i can use the tab button to bring up the jog control. other than pressing the Cltr- Alt button i tried several ways and something did happen it went up in the z axis but when i stopped it and tried the other direction nothing happened it didn't even respond to the up key anymore.

I have been using my inc machine for several years now shut it down yesterday, started it up today loaded my program  turned on the controller didn't turn on so i opened it up changed the fuse, put everything back together, started the controller tried using the keyboard keys
for the x,y,and z axis nothing happened so i spent may hold day trying to figure out how or what happened I can move the machine with the jog control and everything works fine but the keyboard controls are of no use. What am I missing .
Thanks

Hood, Ok i dont have physical switches, can i home the machine other than bringing it to the workobject  and zeroing everything out.  I tried ref home but the only axis that moved was the z and it went to the stop and staye i had to press the stop button it does not move onto the next axis.    Also is there a way for me to zero the work offsets along with zeroing the machine at the same place  I pretty much do very small work in the area of 30-40mm mostly for artistic purposes.  I'm managing but feel theres a lot yet to know for controll of the machine.

No I don't have any physical switches attached to the table.  Also can you tell me why the object no longer lines up in the table display whats responsible besides the g code.
