That is probably the issue on this home PC.
I'll take it back out to the shop and try again.

3
version R3.043.066

I did enter B400. the config box closes when I hit <enter>.
When I reopen the config>ports and pins the value has changed to 0xb

4
The PC connected to it now for testing purposes is a newer HP on Win7.
I know M3 wants XP, but I figured I'd be able to get the motor turning on the newer OS.
Maybe not.

The shop PC is older with XP.

5
Try Bx400

When I enter that value it closes the window. I re-open it and find the value set to Oxb

6
Also, should have mentioned:  The instructions say the E-stop button should go green when pressed. It does turn off the flashing bars on either side, but no green anywhere near it.  I have tried all sorts of settings on the input signals

7
OK, I found it under Resources, I just did not think it was right.
I am showing

I/O Range   B400-B407
I/O Range   B000-B007

So what number would I enter in Ports and Pins?

8
Where do I find the port address?
I am not seeing it in Device Manager

9
I linked to the motor data but the link doesn't work.  Data sheet attached.
Enable jumpers are in place
I went all through the Device Manager and am unable to find the port address. I did find that it defaulted to LPT3 so I changed that to LPT1
Ports & pins is correct and double-checked.

trying to get my feet wet with a CNC conversion. Actually, I have 3 unfinished conversions. I'd like to get ONE running at least!

so....

I am retrofitting an Emco 5 CNC. All the OE electronics are gone.

I am using this stepper driver. http://www.xylotex.com/XS3525V202.pdf

....with this stepper motor http://www.automationtechnologiesinc.co ... h256-28-4a

Powered by a 12V 5amp power supply (my 24V PS was DOA)

Running Mach3. I have it all hooked up on my desktop, set the Vrefs per the Xylotex instructions.
Connected the 8-wire stepper using the Bipolar series diagram.

Now I'm getting lockup when I apply power, but I can't get it to jog in Mach3.

Any suggestions welcome.
