FAQs / Re: Homing/Limits
« on: March 16, 2014, 01:41:21 PM »
Is there a way to make 1 axis return to a user defined zero (work piece zero) without offsets.

Also, is there a way to wire in another limit switch that halts/stops the travel? I have proximity switches, not mechanical limit switches right now and when manually jogging I can go right past the switches and have already accidentally ran my slides off the linear rails, thus pulling oil lines out. I was able to get everything back together but I want to make this fully dummy proof for myself.

Thanks,

PoKeys / PoKeys and Limit Switches

Hello,

If I bought  PoKeys would there be a way to wire in another limit switch that always halted travel in my Z axis? I ask this question because I have a Novakon CNC with linear rails in the Z axis. When manually jogging I discovered it is possible to travel beyond the limit switch (my limit switches are proximity sensors not mechanical) and actually run the top slides off the linear rails, and in accidentally doing this I also managed to pull out my oil line. My proximity switches used for homing the machine do not stop/halt travel when manually jogging.

Thanks,
