General Mach Discussion / Re: keyboard jogging from touchscreen
« on: October 31, 2013, 05:20:44 PM »
thanks Caljet and Hood. I will look into a setting on the touchscreen itself. The funny thing is the mouse still operates correctly when depressing the jog buttons on the screen. Its just the finger thats weird.

That being said, once I get the pendant the system will be working great. The Ethernet smooth stepper is the way to go. My USB one would lock up once in a blue moon while jogging, and the machine would crash. I managed to zap it accidently with static electricity and killed it all together, so I got the ESS.

General Mach Discussion / keyboard jogging from touchscreen
« on: October 25, 2013, 02:24:16 PM »
Hello, i just set a Planar 22" touchscreen up to my Taig mill and it seems to working well.  :) I am using the standard 1024 screen set, and it all seems pretty usable. I turned the windows 7 virtual keyboard on, and that works well also. The only thing is i can't do continuous jog well. If jog is set to step, arrow keys on virtual keyboard work instantly. But in continuous jog mode, they don't seem to work at all. Any ideas?

Jeff from Soigeneris where I bought the mill said he likes KC03 screen set for touchscreen, which is good but doesn't seem to allow setting up various tools and tool length offsets which i like doing.

What are people using for touchscreens? :-\

Hello I am Dave from Phoenix Arizona and I started using Mach3 about 6 weeks ago when I bought a Taig cnc mill for my company. It is running well and lots of fun. I took 4 CNC classes at Mesa community college using a HAAS toolroom TM1 mill (no tool changer). I am currently making a version of the spindle depth stop I saw on "Cartertools" site so I can preset tool heights and use tool length offsets. This will be like I learned on Haas. Who is the person who wrote up this spindle depth stop ? My hat off to you, you're idea is great! hope mine is almost as good.  Still haven't gotten a MPG, but I plan on getting a vista cnc unit soon. M1 I think. Looks like a good forum and I'm sure I can learn much here. I'm still fairly green. Bye
