General Mach Discussion / cnc pipe plasma cutter

Hi

I'm currently designing a cnc plasma cutter for cutting and profiling pipe.

This cnc will essentially be a 2-axis machine (y and a-axes) with torch height control via a linear drive in the z-axis.

The A-xis will be chuck driven, and as a result, pipe surface speed will change with pipe diameter.

I found a wrapper function for control speeds on the a-axis, but was just wondering if anything had been specifically written for a 2 axis plasma pipe cutter.

I'm pretty new to the programming side of things, I have a pretty good idea of how to go about the mechanical side, but am hoping to learn more about the software side

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi all

I'm a new member, I'm currently in the process of designing a cnc plasma cutter to cut pipe profiles, I found this website and the information on it is extensive.
I haven't looked too deeply yet, but I did find a thread about a wrapper function that was programmed to do rotary axes, would this be the best way to go about controlling my table?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
