Hi Tweakie,

thanks for the reply.  Can I ask in my original post above.......... my Device Manager description detects my Parallel Port as (LPT3) CCF0

does this mean that ALL my port references in Darwin and Mach 4 should be set to PORT 3 ?

Thanks
John

Thanks again Art,

I thought perhaps one of these enabled descriptions may have been causing the Interference Spike.

Have a good day

Hi Art,

Thanks for the quick reply,

Could you please confirm the following:

In Mach 4,   if I select the Configure menu / Plugins........ option         I'm presented with the Configure Plugins window.

In this window there are SEVEN different description files (one of which is Darwin PP), ALL of which are Enabled.

Should ALL of these be Enabled or should some be Disabled?

Many Thanks
John

Hi Art, everyone,

Just wondered if you could shed any light on what maybe causing this interference band on the Right hand side?

I've not much on this PC, in fact its pretty Raw other than, Windows 7 (32bit), Mach 4, Darwin Plug-in and Google Chrome.

General Mach Discussion / Darwin - Pulse stats?

Hi There,

Can anyone suggest where I might be able to seek help/support for Art's Darwin Port pulse engine.  I gather Art has now retired but after watching his video I appear to be having a interference issue on the Pulse Stats Window.

Regards

General Mach Discussion / Parallel Port ID - Help Please
« on: March 07, 2015, 06:38:58 AM »
Hi Everyone,

Could someone confirm which Parallel Port ID number I should use?

my address path is:     Device Manager / Ports / PCI ECP Parallel Port (LPT3)

PCI ECP Parallel Port (LPT3) / properties  /  resources.

In the resource window I have TWO   I/O ranges  and TWO memory ranges listed.

My I/O ranges are:  CCF0 - CCF7
                           CCF8 - CCFF

Should I be entering CCF0 as my Parallel Port ID?

Many Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Re: X axis will ONLY move in one direction

Hi Gerry, guys

Have checked my PCI card and its a Universal 3v/5v card  (Has the 2 notches on it) .......... also the PCI slot its been inserted in, appears to be 5v only according to the manual.  ( the notch/bridge on the motherboard PCI slot is furthest away from the rear of the PC )  so I think this is 5v.

Have tested the Parallel cable and seems OK with a continuity test.  So I am completely baffled why 3.3volts are being indcated.

Is there anyway to confirm/test that my M/B PCI slot is definitely outputting 5v?

Any guidance or advice would be a GREAT help.

Many Tanks
John
