Hi  ;D

i was trying to understand how can i drive my 3 axis steppers via usb??
i mean: as i red mach 3 sends via the parallel port 2 signals (step and dir) the step signal is made of a pulse that becomes high (1) for each step that should be done... and the dir signal made of a constant high(1) or low(0) level depending on the sense the stepper should turn (cw or ccw)..

however what can i use to make the steppers "understand" this signal??

i already heard about the solution of the l298+l297 but i prefer another type of solution

thank you

thank you very much it was exactly what i was searching for :) but i still have a query how much does the high logic level last, either for the step and dir pins??

I also have another question..

since my mobo doesn't have an internal parallel port i'm using a pci double parallel port. I use windows 7 ultimate 32 bit, however when i set up mach3 in the section: port adress, I can't find the adress of my parallel ports to insert in the text box..I search them in device manager in com & lpt but when i open my cards property there is no resource tab (I'm actually using both drivers mach3s one and my cards one)... so my questions are:

-should i use the drivers of mach3 for the parallel port or my pcis card driver??
-how can i find the adress for it??
-should it be better

regards and thank you very much
