Mach3 and G-Rex / Set up floating head in Mach3

Hi Everyone!
Extreme newbie. My husband has put me on this project this summer and I really need some help.
I am trying to set up the floating head switch in Mach 3. These are the steps I am following:
Open Diagnostics screen
Move torch until it is just touching the metal then type zero in the Zpos position and hit enter
Here is where I run into problems.
When I move the torch up and down, the Digitize led won't light up on the Mach screen.
I'm at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
