General Mach Discussion / migrate from Mach2 to Mach3
« on: June 16, 2013, 08:03:38 PM »
Hi Guys,

been using a small Denford cnc mill with Mach2.... after moving from one place to another (600Km) ... the cnc did not like it and did not work.  Been trying to set this since last december but... I now consider having a serious need of help.  I did try to upgrade to Mach3 with the latest rev... it is worst.  I am back with Mach 2 and so far what it is working is the spindle (speed isn't adjusted properly), axel X , Y and Z arn't moving and I am not able to move them manually... so there is power !. Coolant pump is working on/off correctly.

Can anyone give me a serious hand... step by step pls !

Thanks in advance

Tommy

Hi guys,

I am new in the Forum, been using my small Benford CNC mill for a while with Mach2, but moved lately and it looks like the PC or the Mill didn't like it. Now it is not working. I did change the breakboard and I am using Campbell Rev 5 combo . I did upgrate to Mach3 the latest version, But it is still not working. I got from Bob Campbell the XML file. When loaded, I could move XYZ axis using the arrow keys but the mill axels are not miving. I have been able to make the Led9 (charge pump) going on but now it is not...

Well I do need a hand to get it going further... Thanks for responding

Tommy

Hi / Bonjour

Here is a bit of myself and the problem I need help for.

I am not a machinist nor an engeneer, I am teaching Kinesiology at University... mainly everything that goes aroung adaptation/readaptation and physical activity. Following this I did start to buiild adapted ski equipment and I trained my student to become instructors in adapted sports ...

I self learn to use solid edge, bought a Small Benford mill CNC already using Mach 2, learn how to use it (with all the mistake you could imagine), bought a press, a metal bender and recently a manual metal lathe (futur project will be to convert it to CNC).

Problems : Recently, I moved and during the transport I do believe that the Mill CNC did not like it  :-\ and I have been trying since last december to fix it. I have changed the breakboard, and switch from Mach2 to the newest Mach3 version.  Did try to transfers all info from Mach 2 to Mach 3 in the ports&pins... but as of now here is what I have been able to do.

I am using a combo Board Rev 5. When I load the mach 3, pwr led gets on as well as led9 which is the charge pump I beleive. Arrow key makes the X,Y and Z axis moving on the screen but the CNC axel are not moving...

This is where I am... and would like a hand to get going

Thanks

Tommy
