 :)That was it - I unchecked the G04 Dwell and now have my pierce time but my Z now goes all the way to the top and hits before it comes back down and fires and upon ending goes all the way up and hits then stops - I assume that if I turn on my soft limits, I can get it to stop before bottoming out or is there another setting to use for this - just thought I would pick your knowledge a little further - Thanx for the info Jon

I have just got my new cnc plasma table up and running, I have made a few cuts but have noticed that my plasma is not delaying for the pierce time. I am setting the pierce time in Bobcad24 as a second or fraction of - I tried bumping it up to 2 seconds but still no change - I am confident that it is something that I have to set correctly in the Mach 3 program - any advise or help would be appreciated. I am also running a THC on the plasma.

My Name is Jon - I am new to the cnc world. I just purchased a cnc plasma table, after a couple of weeks I am now cutting signs with just a few bugs to work out yet along with some fine tuning. I am running Bobcad 24 with Mach3, I am finding out that I don't learn quite as fast as I used to but I am determined and seeing the first cuts was very exciting. I may be asking for some advise here and there on this forum for this is not my profession (yet) but have always enjoyed working with metal. I have found that the support staff Art Soft / Mach and at Bobcad very helpful in getting me started, Thanx for letting me join and look forward to the info I gain here - now if you could only get it to stop snowing in WI
