General Mach Discussion / Mach3 Lathe - Can't Cut Straight 45 degree Angles

All,

I've upgraded my DM-300 lathe to mach 3. There are irregularities when cutting 45 degree angles (see attached pic). I thought the problem was hardware, but thought it maybe mach3 when looking at the cut preview window (see neon highlighted area in pic). The cut part looks EXACTLY like this. I tightened everything on the machine just to make sure and it is still occurring.

Anyone ever run into something like this before?

Software version is 3.043.066.

Thanks Ray. How do you stop the rotation? I need the axis to rotate while searching for the next tool change then stop.

All,

I'm writing a lathe turret tool change macro and am having a hell of a time finding a way to rotate the A Axis via a macro function. The A Axis Stepper is controlled by a G540. I would like the stepper to rotate freely if possible (like it was jogging).
