I am a dummy when it comes to programming. I use a conversational g code programmer. But after that I'm am lost.
I have a Colombo ISO 15 auto tool change spindle and have set up all the air controls and valves to operate it.
I have build a side rack tool holder that needs to have the tool holder move in from the side and then unlock and go up.
But I have tried looking at all the macros and other stuff and can not even start to under stand. Weirdly , I can program I/O electrical plc's. But not this.
I am willing to pay if needed.

Thanks, Sam

I need some help, when I try to start my spindle, the motor starts to turn, but the resey button then starts to flash and I get the message that the EM stop has been activated. I checked and all my setting seem to be ok.

PoKeys / turning on outputs in prokey 55 from mach3
« on: September 26, 2012, 09:32:47 PM »
Hi all;
I know there has to be an easy way to do this. So a Goof Ball like me can do it, I have zero programing skills, none!
I have a prokeys 55 on my computer and I get all the inputs to work, I push the button mach3 responds.
Now I want to get a output when the z axes or any other is running in + direction. Can't do it. I have the newest plug-in installed from prokeys, as all I want to do is turn on a led on a external panel.

Any ideas will be much appreciated

General Mach Discussion / Re: Cutting Fluid for Aluminum
« on: September 26, 2012, 12:07:39 PM »
Hi, I cut lots of small aluminum parts, some with 11 to 12 pockets per piece. I started out using air and got really tired of all the chips all over. Then went to mist and still had to fight the chips. Finlay, i went to flood cooling, WOW what a difference! not only do you get superior cooloing, but chip removal is almost automatic. Yes you have to figure out how to contane it, but with alittle effort you can do it .
Now to the question, stay away from oil, oil of any kind, it gunks up every thing. Use a water based product, like Kool Mist. I use Kool Mist 77, you can get at almost every place that sells tooling, it cost abot $30.00 a gallon, but you can make 33 to 35 gallons of coolent with that. And it works great, it's safe for the enviorment and wont hurt you if you get it on you. But for me the best part besides cooling the tool and chip removal is that it will not rust any of your other metal parts.

Thanks again for the reply. I have a safety back up switch that is also in the circuit. The main limits are non contact prox.

Thanks for the replies, I pushed up the debounce time and it cut out most of the false tripping, then I changed the switches from n/c to n/o and that took care of the rest.

General Mach Discussion / Noise from VFD
« on: September 24, 2012, 04:25:54 PM »
This is probably been answered; But as the new guy, please indulge me. I have a VVD and every thing on the drive works fine. I can controll the speed, turn it on and off , use the over rides. But I keep getting random false limit switch trips, I think it has to be noise from the VFD because if it's not running the program runs great, but when the spindle is running I may get 1 trip or 16 trips. Any ideas?

Thanks
