VB and the development of wizards / M6 Tool Change Sequence
« on: July 13, 2012, 07:16:37 PM »
Hi Guys,

I have a CNC Router running Mach 3, with a HSD 7.5KW spindle, which has the following outputs
OUTPUT sensor S2 (collet open).
2 OUTPUT sensor S1 (presence of tool-holder)
3 OUTPUT sensor S3 (shaft stopped)

Here is the sequence I was after and having a little trouble with,

Machine is at home position
M06 Called

If the tool called is not in the collet, it goes to the tool number on the table with the current tool number in it to drop off,
Just in case the spindle was started before this sequence, and may still be spinning, uses S3 from above to check it has stopped
Then checks S1 to see that there is a tool
Then proceeds to put it in holder, activates relay (output), before lifting up check's S2, so as to not damage holder of tool is stuck, then deactivates output,
Then proceeds to tool needed, number, activates relay (output) and checks S2 before driving down, then deactivates output, then checks S1 to see if tool is in holder
Then go to Z Height sensor probe, in an allocated position on tool change gantry and check height, this is to check the tool is not broken

Have played with variations, but just can't get it to work right.
Any input would greatly be appreciated.
