I use freq drives in my line of work. When you power one down you must wait for the drive to properly shut down for a few seconds, or risk the chance of it going into fault.
Once it faults you will then have to reset the drive before it can start up again. You dont just unplug your computer, to turn it off. It shuts down a bit in the same way.
It also stores power for a few seconds til it dissipates.

General Mach Discussion / windows 10 pro and mach3
« on: December 09, 2017, 10:15:37 AM »
After  searching this forum over and over I haven't found the definite answer.
I am thinking about upgrading my PC to a new one running windows 10
I am using a ESS and running fine on 64 bit windows
what kind of luck running windows 10 PRO with mach3  with an  ESS
I have seen that it should work, but I wound love to hear from someone who has used windows 10 with an ESS 64 bit ETC.
Thanks in advance

In the past I have had similar issues with Freq drives. I had both ends of the shield grounded. This proved to be a mistake. When I would unhook one end of the shield  .
The issue would go away.  It is kind of like an antenna.  Dont know a better way to describe it.

THANKS TO ALL FOR THE HELP and advice.
I have all the software loaded and looking good.
I do not have any stepper movement, however my PMDX shows pulses on output ,,and the screen shows values going up and down , so i must have something wrong with ports and pins config or something disabled to let the GECKO drives to fire off ( drives are green with no pulses while i ask for movement.)
It looks like the pmdx is asking for movement and it is not making it to the drives.
Man I am thankful for this forum and the kind people on it.

Are you familiar with The ESS , I was using one for several years before my crash.
As i recall it takes 64 bit windows to run. All the info I am gathering says Mach3 will only run on 32bit.
If my memory is correct I had to get a 64 bit Mac3 program to make the ESS work.
It has been a long  time, and memory fades with time.
Thanks
