Ok thanks
I'm using Microcarve4 and It doesn't have that option as far as I can tell
What would be the most user friendly cam software that i should look into?
Mainly just engraving designs and lettering into aluminum pedal enclosures and want to start making pcb's
not sure how to use the multipass wizard, are there instructions?

General Mach Discussion / Setting Multiple passes?
« on: November 15, 2012, 06:22:40 PM »
I"m engraving into aluminum and would like to know how to set up multiple passes to get deeper. I keep breaking bits if I try and do it all in one pass.
Can't find a setting for this anywhere and I tried to download the Mach3 manual from the Mach3 website but the english version is corrupt and won't let me download it
I have everything working good except I can't figure this out
Thanks in advance

Tim

I would like to mill designs and lettering into aluminum pedals
If you have a look at these pedals that were etched with acid
http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php?2515576-I-ve-started-a-pedal-etching-tutorial
this what I would like to do with my cnc mill
So what type/types of bits would I use?

Found this on the zentool site
I will try this tonight

Please use 32512 steps/unit for all three axis if you are using inch unit. The driver is set to 1/8 micro step by default(you can change it). So 25.4(mm/inch) / 1.25 (leadscrew pitch) * 200 (full steps per revolution) * 8 (microstep) = 32512 steps/unit.
