Thanks, that was indeed the problem. Could you tell me under what circumstances one would use absolute?

General Mach Discussion / Bad code lines

When I loaded the g code it scrolled to this line on the code and gave this message. "Radius to end of arc differs from radius to start line." It was code that was completely wrong for the piece I was cutting. What exactly does this message mean?

I think that is the problem. It won't set the A the same as X, or atleast it doesn't appear to. To calibrate we are going to Settings page, Set steps per unit. When you look at the Config, motor tuning, x and A are not the same, but they will both change if you change the calibration.

General Mach Discussion / Help! Machine will not calibrate.
« on: February 14, 2012, 09:39:10 AM »
We cannot calibrate our machine. We have triple checked that all gears are tight. Our machine is a shop built  Mechmate. The x axis is driven by two motors. The second motor is assigned a and is slaved ( per config window) to the x. In the motor tuning window the x and the a have to be set separately and manually by pasting x numbers into a, and will not stay the same when setting the step calibration from the settings window. The errors stay consistant. ie, When we calibrate x to 90" and then check it at 48" it is off - 3/32. If we the recalibrate at that point and then run it out to 90", it is off +3/16. Hopefully you have some suggestions.

The manual says to import dxf and hpgl through the file menu but my file menu has no such choice. Choices are , Load G-code, Lazycam...,close file, exit. Whats up?

General Mach Discussion / Mach test problems

Just starting up, going through manual step by step. Got to the try teach, typed in the code, stop teach, load/edit, go to Program runscreen. When I hit cycle start, it does nothing. If I hit it a scond time it jumps to the last line of code. Typed the code for a rectangle right from the manual. ???
