If you are cutting an arc say from 12 o'clock to 3 o'clock is it smooth in any position? i have noticed on my machine its better in some places than other. Between the 1 & 2 position is the worst.

I have had this problem. It was nothing to do with the machine, the machine was a Bridgeport VMC500 withe a Heidenhein TNC530. it was caused by the tolerance used in the Cam package. I reduced the tolerance then it was fine.

Backlash will show up as mismatch on direction change.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Z axis on my mill cutting at different depths
« on: November 09, 2011, 03:53:11 AM »
My X6 was cutting deeper with each part. I found that when the spindle was switched on and the coolant pump the Z axis would move a little. this was caused by interference spikes. I fitted ferrite ring on the 0 10v control signal from the speed control unit and the main control board. Took the 240V supply for the coolant from an external source.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Has anyone used the cnc spindles from keling

I cant under stand why you want to change the spindle on the X6. I have just purchased an X6 for making parts for motorcycles i have had no problems in cutting 6 mm thick 6082 aluminium plate for engine plates. What are the issues you have had with the machine ?
