General Mach Discussion / Re: PWM analogue 0-10V need help
« on: May 04, 2012, 06:44:52 AM »
Many thanks for the reply, and yup I've the 12VDC PSU connected to the X1 terminal of the C32 bob.......

and I've just sorted the problem it was a bit of a head scratcher for me as I'm unfamiliar with this whole electronics and software setup but in the SS plugin config window I inputted a check in the Step and Dir box as opposed to the PWM.....

General Mach Discussion / PWM analogue 0-10V need help
« on: May 03, 2012, 03:58:44 PM »
Hi all again,

I got no reply to my previous post so I thought I'd try again.....

I'm in the process of wiring my VFD to Mach via C32 bob from CNC4PC.....but at present I've not been able to progress, while I am registering 2.5V on my multi-meter at the VFD analogue 0-10V terminals when I enter an M3 comand in MDI and respectively an M5 will switch off the voltage reading on the meter, at least I'm doing something correct.....but no matter what settings I input into Mach3 regarding pulley ratios max speed PWM % increase I cannot increas this analogue voltage reading from 2.5V to 10V, so therefore I will only get 25% of the max speed when I connect my VFD.....

I'd really appreciate advice here guy's, how or where am I inputting incorrect info..???

General Mach Discussion / Mach and PWM VFD setup help please
« on: May 02, 2012, 04:20:07 PM »
Hi all,

I'm having trouble setting up Mach3 using PWM control with my C32 bob http://www.cnc4pc.com/Store/osc/product_info.php?cPath=33&products_id=255&osCsid=1a46c7c2fc334382a725d2b892800e57

I've followed the C32 Manual instructions on the setting up and in "Motor Outputs" I've inputted Step Pin14 and Dir Pin8 and Both Step port and Dir Port are 1....in spindle setup I have checked the box "Use Spindle Motor Output" and "PWM Control".... "PWM Base Frequency" and all as per manual.........I also use the USB Smooth Stepper so in the Plug-In window I have checked the PWM........I connected the Optoisolated 12VDC to X1 on the C32 and when I either inputted M3 or M5 in MDI I was able to output to the X2 connection terminals 10V analogue or stop the output volts respectively according to the multimeter but now it doesn't work.........

I changed nothing just exited Mach had my tea came out and tried it again but nope no output.....

I'd sure appreciate some advice here.......I've read somewhere and can't remember where that Mach has intermittent PWM issues is this true?????

Yup he loved it and it isn't often you see the whites of someones eyes when they're surprised ha....

it's the little things that count and make it all worth while......

again thanks BR549 for the reply...

Eoin, what is your wanting to do or why would you want to do that?  Would you be better off setting up 2 profiles you think?

Brett

It was just a wild guess to save me time at learning Visual Scripting.......and thanks for the reply

Yeah thanks for confirming that

Hi all just wondering can Mach3 communicate with the Eithernet Smooth Stepper and K-Flop motion controller at the same time..??

If both plug-ins were installed and the K-Flop connected by USB and the ESS connected would Mach on start up simply ask the user to select just one motion controller...??

Hi all,

I made this little guitar for my Nephew who's eighteen today, it's made from Aluminium and I polished the finished model with a similar technique as Stainless polishing...this is my first time polishing Aluminium and wasn't sure of the result but there's no difference really to polishing Stainless....I drilled and tapped M3 Allen cap screws as the tuning screws and you can see the end result......

Also I could sure do with advice with a topic I raised here http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,21435.0.html and thanks in anticipation.....

Brains Development / Re: How do I create an additional axis brain...?
« on: April 28, 2012, 07:45:17 AM »
Thanks for the reply, and yeah the PLC had crossed my mind but the thing is electronics and the control of them isn't my area of expertise but I can follow wiring instructions with a little bit of explanation as I want to learn and understand fully what I'm doing...and I already have my CNC electronics all wired and working.....(so I must be doing something correct)

but how would I control the PLC within Mach..?.... is it like say the same as wiring my VFD to the C32 breakout board so as to control it within Mach and in my case I needed an additional 12VDC PSU wired to the bob to send out 10VDC analogue to the VFD terminal connections......

How would I wire the PLC..?...at present I have no solenoid valves wired and controlled in my set up, simply to be honest I don’t understand how to wire them yet….. as up to now I hadn’t needed them, so I would sure appreciate all the advice and help you can give, and if you could direct me to wiring schematics and web links or videos….

Thanks in advance
