General Mach Discussion / Custom Machine Builders
« on: March 24, 2014, 03:04:52 PM »
I'm looking for a established company to build a custom CNC machine.  It will be used to drill and tap holes into round posts at varying locations so it will need a spindle (Z) and a rotary axis (A) and an X axis.  Im in Alberta so i'd prefer to deal with someone in Canada or Northern US.  If anybody has any suggestions or have worked with a company that would build this for me please let me know.  Thanks

In the drop down menu under Config when i click on the motor tuning option nothing opens up.  Every other item on that menu will open except for motor tuning.  Re-install maybe?? please help!

Thanks for the reply.  I'm not sure what you mean ABS/INC IJK's.  The rotary is actually labelled A but I'm assuming that the "y" in the code is referring to that motor.  Does that make sense?

FAQs / error message (easy fix im sure)
« on: May 02, 2012, 06:16:14 PM »
Hi,
I'm new to the site and fairly new with mach3.  I am building a plasma pipe cutter with a rotating chuck for the y axis.  It is mainly used to cut hexagon holes in round tube.  I think this might be something that might be caused by the way it's drawn in autocadd but my knowledge in autocadd is very limited.  The Gcode is created and the torch moves down the x axis to cut but when it gets to the point of firing the torch an error comes up "Radius to end of arc is differs from radius to startof arc".  That's one problem.  The second is that the y axis (chuck) doesn't move.  Even on programs with just straight lines the gcode shows it should be moving and the torch fire signal is on as it goes through the program but does not turn.  I can turn it in manual mode so i know the motor works etc.  Any help would be great! THX

Thanks a lot for all the help.  Im glad its agreed that its most likely not a Cad problem.  I'll probably take all this back to PCS and see if they can figure it out from here.  If not i may be begging for more help!

thanks again

Lazycam is the program that i import the dxf into for the gcodes.  As you can see the one vertical line is the problem.

General Mach Discussion / Autocad and Mach 3 issues
« on: June 06, 2011, 01:57:50 PM »
I just bought a plasma table and am having problems with the torch cutting lines that aren't in the dxf file.  The manufacturer of the table say's its a setting in Autocad but cant help me anymore than that.  We use Autocad to generate dxf's for numerous other cnc machines and haven't run into this before. Is anybody else using Autocad with Mach?
