I am trying to avoid using switches as when we start milling they usually get jammed with metal shards fairly quickly.  Is there a way to set the offsetts and home positions in the software only?  At this point I keep on running into my machine coordinates dominating, and my home position is a number that is beyond my softlimits.  So when I press the home position button my z tries to go above my limit and my table does the same.

Using mach 2

I actually figured this one out, just type "None" and you will be able to unlock your menus again.

Using Mach2

I place my table at my zero position.  I go through and zero all coordinates and do the save function on table and offsett.  When i go to run my home position it still goes back to different position.

How can i create the zero position on both my cnc and in my software so when I press home it always returns to the same position?

General Mach Discussion / Problem with lock and unlock feature in Mach2

Hey guys,

I refurbished a cnc with mach2 and have written everything I need to make it run.  After finishing I used the "lock" command in the operator tool bar.  However now a day later I tried to change my options around and I was unable.  When i go to unlock it asks me for a password.  I did not provide a password when i locked it but now it needs one.  Almost all of my "config" items are now unusable as they no longer bring up the pop up screen with the new menu.

I really don't want to rewrite all the parameters to what I need them to be but i cant use what i have written without making slight changes from time to time.  Does anyone have any clue what to do, or better yet how to unlock?

Feel free to email me at Dareks@inlinespe.com or just answer here as I will keep on checking back until i have an answer.

Thank You,
Darek
