General Mach Discussion / Re: Is backlash compensation broken?
« on: August 11, 2011, 09:03:37 AM »
I have been using R3.043.022 after reading some post I am using the R3.043.039. I'm not sure what PP or SS is? I followed the procedure on setting backlash in the box and restaring the program. I am using a galil card and servos. How do I post my xml file?

Galil / motor feedback option in plugin
« on: March 30, 2011, 02:13:56 PM »
I have a PCI 1842, AMC analog amps ,DC brush servos with tach. I use glass scales as my encoders. I don't seem to have the hunting problem everyone Say's you get but I do have some kind of a motor position error.
When a program first rapids it would seem that the machine doesn't quite make the mark in any random axis. After the next couple of moves it catches up. It might be off .005" of as much as .050" I have found that by checking the use Ref position not encoder for position feedback that the problem goes away. However when I hit reset, my DRO no longer works and I loose position because of slight motor movement when shut down. Any way to get my dro to work in this configuration? or any suggestions on how to fix the position error with the box unchecked?

FAQs / feed rate hot keys
« on: February 10, 2011, 11:31:36 PM »
I bought a Logitech PC (F310) usb game controller. I'm using as a remote/pendent. It was easy to set up with the software that came with it. you just press the keyboard Key you want to use and then assign it to a function on the controller. I would like to ad the increase and decrease feedrates in the jog. to it does anyone know if there is a hot key assignment for them. I have looked everyfor some info but haven't found anything.

Galil / Re: Galil error code # 1 (Unrecognized command)
« on: February 10, 2011, 11:21:06 PM »
Thanks for you help. I have figured it out with the help of the Galil boys. I was reading the codes wrong to begin with. It was electrical interference tripping the limits switches causing the problem. This brought me to the next problem which you just figured out for me in another post. Thanks again.

Galil / Limit switch tripping
« on: February 10, 2011, 09:53:27 AM »
After talking the the Galil boys we determined that I had interference tripping the limit switches and stopping the program. He suggested that I use normally open instaed of normally grounded and rerouting wires away from the motors. I am all for this configuration as it allows me to use the normally side of my switches to stop power to the motor relays in the event of a runaway on any kind of a failure. I used the CN1 comand in the smart terminal to change the setting to normally open on the limit switches in card. I have confermed that it being read right on the data page. I have went to the ports and pins page and changed the setting there as well. The Diagnostics page confirms that the switches are configured right. However I have a limit switch triggered statement in the mach screen and so nothing is working. I have confermed that it is sending a stop comand to the galil as well. Is there a setting I'm missing or a glitch in the plug in? Anyone have this problem as well?

Galil / Galil error code # 1 (Unrecognized command)
« on: February 09, 2011, 01:29:47 PM »
I have a Lagun FTV-2 Mill, I had a Anilam crusader control which I removed and installed a PC with a Galil DMC 1842 and ICM 1900. I have purchased the mach3 software and installed the Galil plug in. After many hours on scratching my head I have it working with the jog buttons. However when I go to run a program it stalls.  I have went to the smart terminal and retrieved a code #1 (Unrecognized command) Anyone have any ideas?
