LazyCam (Beta) / Re: Any other HPGL to G-code converter ?
« on: February 14, 2007, 01:24:48 PM »
Hello Brian,

Hello,

Here is my problem : the size of my drawing is not the size of the result in mach3.

I make some drawings in HPGL. They are well imported in Lazycam.
Suppose I import a circle which dia. is 43mm.
Then, Layer/object properties,
I have the hereunder numbers :

- extents        X   min : 0.0000   max : 1702.0000
                    Y   min : 0.0000   max : 1702.0000

- selectchain    X extents > same as above

- stock size      stock depth    : 0.0000
                     stock X length : 3651.0000
                     stock Y length : 3091.0000

Could you please advise what are the hereabove X and Y numbers for these 3 sections?

Thank you very much in advance.

General Mach Discussion / Lazycam alternative

Hello,

As an alternative to LAZYCAM which are the software names that can properly convert HPGL files (or DXF but first HPGL) into G-CODE? Thank you.   .

i have checked : this is not a mm/inch problem.

Thank you very much in advance. ;)

One question : I  will not  have  this problem with a DXF file?

If so, I can just choose  a converter  to  tansform  my  HPGL or JPEG or  BPM files  into  DXF  ones?

Thanks  again for  your  precious  help.

Best.

Fred

Thank you very much Graham! ;)

I am now on  the road for 1 week. As soon  as I am back, I try this good idea.
But if someone else has another good idea...

General Mach Discussion / Drawing / engraving size difference
« on: February 07, 2007, 08:26:32 AM »
hello  everybody. I am happy that such a website exists.
 ;)

To sum up, I make a drawing (in mm - metric) and export it using HPGL.

I then use  the  Lazycam section  to import the  HPGL  file to generate a G-code. But
when engraving, the size of the result is totally different.

Is there a parameter I must change? I changed  the "scale drawing" in the
left LAZYCAM menue. The best result is with Xdimension « «6 » but  seems to  depends of the ratio X/Y. How can I be sure I engrave the same drawing I made? ( Same
dimensions)...

How  to  be sure mm's is  slected in the lazycam file auto-clean button options. ? What parameters should I change to modify that?
Is  there  a  manual  for  the lazycam ?

Note : I run under Mach3 R2.0.009, Lazycam 2.66

Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Best  regards.

Fred.
