General Mach Discussion / Re: MPG axis change turns off Jogging
« on: November 12, 2011, 10:23:38 AM »
All three Brains are enabled.  I tested each one individually with the others disabled and I get much more reliable performance with only the last (the one I attached) enabled.  I only have one MPG, what would I be messing with to disable the other two?

I didn't install the Brain or the MPG but I am relatively certain it is the one attached.  I read the manual and all my pins seem to be configured correctly.  There are two additional Brains in my directory, one appears to be a slight variation of the attached.  Should I disable it?  My axis is changed with a knob on my MPG as is the feed-rate.

General Mach Discussion / MPG axis change turns off Jogging
« on: November 11, 2011, 05:12:40 PM »
I have a Handy Pulser MPG that works fine with a Brain except when I switch between axis.  More often then not, the jogging will be turned off and I'll have to turn it back on before I can use the MPG.  All axis work fine, it's just the switching between them that causes problems.  I'm worried it's a hardware issue but thought I'd ask to see if anyone has any suggestions.

Ha ha ha!  Right port addresses, right pin configurations, with working ports and working cables....connected to wrong ports on machine.  Man I feel stupid.  Jog is still stuck and axi moving in absolute integers in one direction only but I'm sure I can figure it out from here.  Thanks for helping out a newbie, I ended up learning a lot in the process.

I don't know how to get the jog re-enabled, but while running a code I got nothing out of 3, 5, or 7.  10, 11, and 12 were the only pins active with a nonvarying voltage.

Ok, attached is the oldest profile I have.  I recovered it from the xmlbackups folder, it has been known to work.  Thanks for looking!

Thanks for your help but I've done both of those things a thousand times.

FAQs / Memoryoverride.zip?
« on: November 15, 2010, 09:49:39 PM »
The latest M3 manual mentions running memoryoverride.zip after first installation.  I've been having trouble with my software after a resent upgrade and thinking that the M3 parallel port driver might be to blame (?).  Would a reinstall of this file make any difference?  Also, does the Parallel Port Driver reside in the C:\Mach3 folder?  And if so, what is it called?  Thanks.

While using my original licensed version of M3 I use my oldest profile in my xmlbackups folder, no luck.  The thing I can't figure out is why a downloaded demo version of M3 at least has some green LEDs on the diagnosis page.  Although even with these green lights and a .xml from the breakout board manufacturer doesn't get my axi jogging.  It seems green LEDs or not, I have no control.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

FAQs / Connection Problem
« on: November 14, 2010, 08:07:26 PM »
My machine was working fine with Mach3 prior to some fumbling with the software.  Now I am seeing all black on the LEDs on the Diagnosis page.  I have reverted to a Port/Pin configuration that has been known to work, the breakout board appears to be functioning and is responsive to limit switches and when I disconnect the parallel port.  A total reinstall of Mach3 makes some Pin LEDs green but I still have no control.  Jog mode is currently and permanently off.  What should I try?
