Thanks for the info. I have looked at the backlash topics and changed the general config - shuttle accel setting from 1 to 0.1 seconds
and now everything works fine.

General Mach Discussion / Version 3 stepper problems

Can anyone help. I have been running version 2.040 for 9 months on my bridgeport mill
with no problems at all. I remember trying to upgrade to version 2.065 and now version 3
and have encountered the same problem.
When i try to jog any of the 3 axis all is well until i try to change direction. At this point the steppers
slow down, stop and then accelerate slowly up to the feed i have set. If i stop and then jog in the
same direction all is well but if i reverse the direction the same thing happens.

Is there a setting I have missed? I am running windows 2000 sp4
