General Mach Discussion / Spindle turning off during cycle
« on: August 01, 2011, 07:14:04 PM »
I've been running Mach 3 for about two years now, but recently on my cnc router, the spindle will stop running in the middle of a program for some unknown reason.  I can restart spindle by first clicking to turn spindle off in Mach and then by clicking again to restart.  Only happens every once in a while, maybe twice a day in 8 hours of running, but afraid to leave machine alone for fear if spindle stops will damage machine, tool bit, and part I'm cutting.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Need help with Z axis
« on: August 01, 2011, 07:10:03 PM »
Thanks for all the great input.  Turned out to be that one of the bearing slides on the z axis was packed with sawdust and once I got it all cleaned up seems to be running fine again.

Thanks again for the help!!

General Mach Discussion / Need help with Z axis
« on: July 31, 2011, 07:16:00 PM »
Been using Mach 3 for about 2 years and have two different cnc routers.  Recently the z axis on the one router will begin cutting correctly then when it moves up and goes to another part of program it stays up in the air and cuts nothing.  Never returns back to the original z zero position.  I've tried everything I can think of: reinstall, motor tuning. checked servo's, driver test.  It keeps happening; even tired different programs (that I've run before) and nothing.

HELP!!!

Need phone support for setup of Mach 3.  Tried email support, forum, and everything else I can think of.  Running a Pcnc router (no longer in business) and cannot not get Mach 3 to work.  Previously had working fine until computer crashed.  New computer with XP, reinstalled everything and nothing works.  Ran driver test and tested excellent but cannot get machine to do anything.

HELP!!!  Have several projects due asap

Mach3 under Vista / Re: No Driver Sensed Installed. OS-Windows 7
« on: July 04, 2010, 04:39:48 PM »
Jeff,

I see that you have a link to a website (perhaps yours) about the smooth stepper.  Exactly how does this smooth stepper work?  Can you expalin what I would need to get Mach 3 to run with my current setup and what I would need to buy?  And will Mach 3 then be able to run with a 64-bit system?

Most sincere thanks,

Justin

Mach3 under Vista / Re: No Driver Sensed Installed. OS-Windows 7

Just installed an internal PCI express x1 parallel board and still getting same message that "no driver sensed installed."  I have no idea what the problem is.  Installed new drivers with board and reinstalled Mach 3 and still had no luck.  Tried Vista patch, and still the same.

Mach3 under Vista / No Driver Sensed Installed. OS-Windows 7
« on: July 02, 2010, 04:10:53 PM »
Need major help.  My original computer crashed and now using new computer with Windows 7.  Have to use parallel port to run machine but do not have a parallel port with new computer, only USB.  Bought a USB to parallel cord/converter but when I install Mach 3 all I keep receiving is "No driver sensed installed.  Run Driver test” Tried running driver test as admin and tells me the same thing that "No driver sensed installed."

PLEASE HELP!! Have deadlines on projects due.

Sincere thanks in advance.
