General Mach Discussion / Re: more port and pins question
« on: May 08, 2010, 09:30:35 AM »
Hi Steve  Silly question you said you configured to port 2 you are using two ports from the computer ? and you have set up both ports in config ? I notice from your screen shot on pins you have a port 8 ?
If you only have one port set up then you would still get the led's to light up but they couldn't do anything

General Mach Discussion / Re: Pins 2 & 3 dont work.

Hi there I had a similar problem only mine was pins 4 & 5 tried swapping cables to different drive no change .
Put a meter across the pins and pressed the jog I could only see 0.5 volt change .
Changed the cable to pins 8 & 9 corrected the pinouts in config and all worked well so I could have a problem in the cable or the breakout board or out bound from the computer this I will look at later when I get round to changing the PC

Hello to you all what a great site
I'm Paul (weldsol). I have built a 3axis machine and have now downloaded Mach3 and now today trying to get to grips with everything. ???
So far got the motors running and set up some home points so there is still a way to go before I cut any material.
I also killed three trees by printing the Mach3 manual all 157 pages but now it's in a nice folder by the machine so I can refer to it.

If it can't be fixed with a hammer then it must be an electrical fault  ::)
