General Mach Discussion / Setting Tool Number & Tool Length Offsets
« on: May 17, 2013, 09:30:55 AM »
I have just fitted a Kress Toolchanger to my CNC and I've been trying to set up the tool length offsets in Mach 3.  In the tool length offset section on screen it looks like I should be able to enter a tool number and offset value, but the input box just goes back to zero after I enter a value.  I can select the different tools with G code, but I would like to set the offsets and manually select each tool to verify the correct settings and operation.  Is there a simple way to do this?

Thanks,

Richard.

General Mach Discussion / Machine Not Moving Off Reference Switch
« on: January 30, 2011, 12:28:36 PM »
Until recently my machine has functioned correctly when I selected 'Ref All Home' ..each axis would move to the reference switch and reverse off it in turn, Z followed by Y followed by X.  However, for some reason it has stopped working correctly and now when I select 'Ref All Home' the Z axis references correctly, then the Y axis moves to the reference switch, but does not move off, then because it hasn't moved off the Y switch the X axis tries to reference in the wrong direction.  I don't think I've changed any settings to cause this, but I can't be sure.  Can anyone tell be why this is hapenning and how to rectify the problem?

Thanks,

Richard.

General Mach Discussion / 'Verify' Function - Only able to check one axis
« on: February 27, 2010, 08:36:32 PM »
Hi,

I've been trying to figure out how to use the verify button to perform a rehoming check on all three axes on my machine.  When I press the button all three axes move toward their home switches at the same time and when the first one hits its switch they all stop and return to zero position so only one is actually checked.  I don't have any problem with normal reference movement as the axis are referenced one at a time in sequence.  I would have thought the verify command would do the same ..is there any way to change this?

Thanks,

Richard.

General Mach Discussion / Auto Tool Zero - Plate Thickness DRO(1151)?
« on: February 27, 2010, 12:27:12 PM »
Hi,

I'm new to Mach3 so I'm probably asking a stupid question ..anyway here goes.

I'm trying to set up the Auto Tool Zero function and have had limited success using scripts from this forum, but I can't seem to get the zero setting to compensate for the thickness of my sensor switch (I place this on top of my workpiece so I need to add its height to the z setting to get the correct z position.   All of the scripts I have looked at refer to 'PlateThickness = GetUserDRO(1151)', but I don't understand where the parameter DRO(1151) is located or how it is set.  I think this is probably the key to solving my problem, but I can't find any information about this.  I'd be very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

Richard.
