I'm getting the above error message fault every 5 to 10 minutes on a 7766 any suggestions? There has been no Mach 4 or plug-in updates recently.

HiCON Motion Controller / Homing 7766
« on: October 25, 2022, 10:24:33 AM »
I have a 7766 in a router running stepper motors. It had been working fine daily and then one morning on startup I got an error message that it couldn't reference the screen set. I reloaded Mach 4 and reinstalled the parameters and all the motors move but when I try to home it I get the "reference complete" box instantly but Mach disables and nothing moves. The error message says "Motor 2 (Y) isn't enabled in mach" but I can't find anywhere it isn't enabled and it jogs fine. All of the  M LEDs are green and the Input and output axis LEDs are yellow in the diagnostic screen. The proximity home switches all trigger correctly. Any ideas?

Where are the settings saved in the Hicon Integra plugin? I have to reload Mach and would prefer not to have to re-enter the settings manually.

Sorry for the late reply I had notifications turned off apparently. I have 5 servos, 3 functional, 2  probably need encoders. I have 4  drives.

Mach4 General Discussion / Handy tip

Maybe I'm the last guy to realize this but recently I discovered the sliders could be adjusted with the center mouse wheel with much better precision and control than dragging. Just hover the cursor over the slider and roll the wheel, hope it helps someone.

Got it thanks Stuart

I had no problem doing this with windows 7 or xp with mach3 but I'm hitting roadblocks with 10. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have the above bits, willing to discuss a price depending on how much of it you want. Larry

Mach4 General Discussion / Gecko G540 and PMDX-411 smart bob

Here's the information as best as I can describe it;
1. Booted up our 5-year-old shop built 4 axis hotwire this morning and the power supply popped with the accompanying burnt electronic smell.
2. I replaced the 48v power supply with a similar model.
3. everything fired up again but when I tried to home the machine it went the wrong direction, X motors only for 1.0797 inches and then disabled, that distance repeats every time, Y motors didn't move.
4. I can flip the direction of the home direction but it responds the same way in the other direction
5. I can jog in both directions and it will run g-code programs, all in the correct directions.
6. The proximity home switches are functional but the g540 won't recognize them, even when you jog over them.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

Thanks for the replies, good information. I'm looking at all options at the moment, Yaskawa, Kollmorgen, Beckoff and may consider some lower-cost options like DMM.
