Modbus / setting up autopolling parameters
« on: December 16, 2009, 08:14:13 AM »
Hi,

I'm trying to control my Spindle via ModBus RTU.
I'm Using a LG IC5 VFD.

I can read and write registers using Modbus test from modbus configuration window, so I can assume that the modbus communication is working ok.

I think I'm having problems setting up the AutoPolling Parameters.
When I set the input registers, the status label says "No error" but when I set the output register numbers, the status label says "Illegal Com Port"
Anyway I'm not quite sure about wich register numbers should be set....

I'm attaching the VFD Modbus Interface pdf manual, you can see on page 9 and 10 the parameters grid.

How should the autopolling parameters be set according to this specifications?

Thanks a lot!

Third party software and hardware support forums. / spindle via modbus
« on: November 23, 2009, 11:51:56 AM »
Hi,

I'm new to CNC, and I'm triying to use my spindle via MODBUS.
I have an LG IC5 inverter with modbus RTU,
I can make it work perfectly using DriveView Application (wich comes with the Inverter Modbus Interface)
So the inverter is correctly wired.

I have no idea how to make it work when using Mach3. I Tryed enabling the modBus Spindle on Spindle SetUp, but dón know how to send the correct parameters to the inverter (parameters for frecuency, Forward, Reverse and Stop)

Thank you!

Willy
