General Mach Discussion / Re: Kress FME-1050-1 + Inverter?
« on: May 05, 2018, 11:17:09 PM »
Hi guys,
My Kress 800 FME stopped working after 5 years of good use. I think the commutator is completely worn out and it smoked I think the Copper winding developed a short.
My question is where can I buy an Armeture for replacement?
Thanks for the help'

Eureka, that took care of the problem. Obviously the machine sets the steps per to 8000 to get the right distance, all I had to change is the speed and velocity to make it work.
Its not the gun its the gunner....
Thank you much for your suggestion.

Wood router with 3 Nema 23 made by Wantai Mototrs (China) breakout board dip switch setting is:
1off, 2 on, 3 off ,4 off, 5 off, 6 off, 7 on, 8 on
When calibrating the distance in "Settings" then "Steps per. I ask the X axis to move .100 it moves 0.025 than I am asked if I want to change the axis to 8000 (It was set @2000), if i accept the motor will stall (too fast).
Any suggestions how to fix this? thank you in advance.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach3 Problems - Rant!!

I just read your frustration, and don't know how much you have read into the manual for Mach3. I would find out if the travel direction is correct. PLUS is quill up. MINUS is quill down. if the setting is correct then check the Negative and Positive signs in front of your numbers in the "G" code printout.
Also find out when you set up your (Stock Set-up)  as to where is your ZERO if you choose the bottom part, then you will only travel in the POSITIVE direction (UP). If you choose the top of the part as your starting point ,then you will have to put NEGATIVE value so the quill will go DOWN. Hope I didn't make the situation any worse.
Good luck.

Chuck,

I have been reading your issues on the "Z" axis. I had a similar problem on my vertical mill which has a lot of "Lost Motion" in the movement.
Try this.
Go to "Config" then click on "Backlash" and set your "Z" axis to 20% just to try ad see if it works. if not increase it or decrease it depending on the outcome.
The software works great. In my case it was the gunner and not the gun. I strongly suggest reading the Manual which you can download. That make life more tollarable.

I am used to drawing parts in SolidWorks, and don't want to learn Master-Cam. How can I move the SolidWorks drawing to Master-Cam and to Mach3?
I tried to save the file as STL and DXF. anyone has the sintax for the process? any ideas.
Thanks.

Hi all,

Just got my Milling machine converted to CNC using Mach3. I loaded the "Cut Arc" from the wizard, and posted the "G" code .when opening the screen to view it looks fine till I run the machine to simulate the cut(Using a Felt Marker) just to see what it looks like. the picture that the machine cut (drew with marker)is a mirror image of what is shown on the screen.

Can anyone help out as to what to do to fix this? The X and Y movements are correct and not backwards.
Thanks.
