Been lurking for a couple years -- haven't posted recently as I have had other issues to deal with (culminating in having a couple pounds of titanium implanted into what was a failed hip joint). Surgery was a complete success and looking forward to getting back to being active in the shop.
Have a decent size Grizzly mill that is in the works for getting the CNC treatment. Doing a small (2'X4') wood router first (50% completed) as proof of performance and then a plasma cutter next. Mill will be last.
Already own MACH3 and very happy with it -- took a class a couple years ago at a local community college for CNC machine operation so have a good grasp of GCode.
The router is rude and crude -- iron pipe rails, skate wheels and all-thread rod (yes I know...). Using a Rigid laminate trimmer for the spindle.
Should have it and the plasma cutter (already have the Hypertherm torch) done this winter. Also looking at a sinker EDM (Ben Fleming design) -- I am learning blacksmithing and looking for stuff to make tooling.
