General Mach Discussion / Re: Macros
« on: August 05, 2016, 06:09:53 AM »
Thanks Hood
Everything was in the right place with no errors but for some reason it did not like me using M100 or M30, as soon as I used M101 it worked ok.
I was hoping to use M30 as most programs already finish with this but I guess it is no bother to add M101.

General Mach Discussion / Macros
« on: August 04, 2016, 05:00:43 PM »
Mach3 setup and I want a lamp to light when the program has finished. I added a macro to the macro folder called M30 with the code ActivateSignal (OUTPUT5). If I run the code in the VB editor window it works ok and reset cancels the output. However M30 in the code did not run the macro. In case M30 was not allowed I tried M100 and also M3 but they would not run my code. I have tried with 2 separate mach3 machines with the same result. What am I doing wrong?

Finished Screens / Plasma screen

Is there a dedicated plasma screen that does not have references to spindle speed and other non plasma functions?

Thanks Hood and Overloaded, I have unchecked max CL and system is now working.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge here but where do I select, or deselect, max CL and NC. Also I have checked the waveforms again and I might be wrong about the PWM. It seems I have a 50/50 square wave and the frequency just increases with speed???

General Mach Discussion / Pulse problem
« on: March 17, 2010, 03:28:46 PM »
Just set up Mach3 on a new,(recon), computer and have a problem with the pulse outputs. Driver test exellent. Checked pulses with scope and instead of 5 us pulses with variable frequency I have variable pulse width, ie PWM. This is on X and Y outputs. Also I have the same waveform on the direction pins as well. Is there a setting for this I have overlooked, I know about the spindle PWM setup but I am not using that.
Any ideas?

General Mach Discussion / Re: strange results with laptops.
« on: December 02, 2009, 04:02:06 PM »
Laptop Problems.
I have converted a mill and a lathe using desktops, no problem. I am making a plasma cutter and portable would be good hence the laptop. I have an old dell inspiron 1000, stopped as much background stuff as I could and fitted a bidirectional PCMCIA parallel converter. Set up Mach3 assigned pins 2,3,4,5,Xdir,X step, Y dir, Y step and checked pulse trains, very flakey and pulses on direction pins??
Changed the windows power interface from ACPI to Standard PC. Pulses now good but still have the same step pulse train on both step and direction pins, tried changing pin numbers and disabling pins in Mach3 but no joy, pulses just stay on the same pins. Tried inputs to the PC, they work.
So two problems, no direction signals and rather annoyingly windows assigns a different device number to the parallel port on each startup so I have to enter this in Mach3 before I start. Any ideas anyone. ( I know, use a desktop)!!

FAQs / Re: Please wait, generating path

I will buy a licence after successful evaluation, no problem, but the same download works on another PC. Is there something in the PC setup that might stop the path generation?

FAQs / Please wait, generating path
« on: April 29, 2009, 10:42:42 AM »
Hi
Just installed Mach 3 on a machine with XP professional.
Seems to be working ok, screens are there and usable.
But ‘teach’ simple G code and I get a window saying ‘please wait, generating path’, it never produces one!!!
Processor at about 2% so no overload. Used same download on another machine, ok, so must be a machine setup related, any ideas???
