General Mach Discussion / Inaccurate Dimensions
« on: October 10, 2010, 12:38:31 AM »
I use Rhino4 for creating a DXF, cut2d for creating gcode and mach3 for cutting the pattern.  Circles i cut are consistently too small - an 11 5/16 Circles comes out
10 7/8.  X,Y axes are calibrated and equal.  I am using a .25 end mill and I have it set to cut on the inside of the circle.  Where do I look to correct this problem?  Is is stepover?

I tried a 4 inch line both vertical and horizontal and the actual length was 4.375 inches.  I took that percentage and applied it to an 8 inch circle and the result was the same.......Is this something to do with motor tuning?

As soon as the ball game is over I will try that.  To try that test occurred to me too...BC

I think the end mill choice is consistent in both.....1/8 round.  I will recheck that though......Thanks

It does not matter whether I use Cut2d, or SimplyCam if I upload gcode to mach3 the resulting circle is not the correct size.  An 8" drawn in Cut2d is 8.5" after mach3 cuts it.  I am assuming that I have improper settings in mach3, but I don't know where to look.  The programs are not set to use any offsets.  help!

FAQs / How to change Configuration?
« on: August 09, 2009, 12:33:19 AM »
What switches in the configuration of mach3 control the on and off of the router?  My router runs exactly opposite so that before I start a routine I have to go in each time and change the gcode.  Otherwise, the router shuts off when it is supposed to start . ???........any help would be appreciated...Thanks

Where in Mach3 configuration can I make a change so I can reverse the start-stop gcode pattern.  It is exactly opposite of what it should be.
