Hi Steve
The commands being sent by the plugin are not OF they are AC DC and JG it is sending a signal for a servo loop instead. I have looked at plugin configuration and the only choices for spindle is step and direction or servo. there is no choice for vfd. Do I need to use step and direction to get the OF commands?

General Mach Discussion / videos
« on: March 07, 2010, 05:45:46 PM »
Hi all
I have been watching all the videos ans was wondering.
1.The first swf video is working with flash. How do I get more info on how to get and use that program. I did the 2 downloads and those are not it unless it was done incorrectly ( probably ) on this end. What is the name and version of it?
2. Also I need to get information on the Galil plug in but have had no luck at all. At present the vb 2003 is on the way to me. Can a copy of the source code for that plug in be obtained. I really really need to use it and can not get all working. I  want to go forward with Mach3 using servo motors but have reached a dead end.

I am working with the Galil plug in. Have tried to post in that section but have never gotten a response to any of my questions. This software fascinates me. it seems to have everything but support, and I need a lot lol. I have viewed  all of the videos posted and some of them twice. Have pulled out all post pertaining to Galil and read them back through 09.  Gantry mode comes up a lot in them. It is also mentioned in a lot of the Galil command reference.  Gantry is just one of hundreds of questions racing around in my head. a few others are
1. what c language program would i need to buy to look at the code like some of the videos do?
2. how does one look at the code for the plug in and with what?
3. Some of the videos have stated that there are some further videos that I cant locate. where are they?
4. where is the best document on this software located? and how do i get it.
5. when the software installed it said it was installing a distributable copy of microsoft c++ can I fire that up and look at the things mentioned above? How?

sorry for firing off so many request, but you are the first one to ever answer me on anything in either forum.
Thanks Jimmy Haskins

General Mach Discussion / Gantry mode

Hi all
I am not very knowledgeable so here's my question. What Is gantry mode? Did a google on and did not find anything related to CNC.

My name is Jimmy Haskins
I cant remember if I posted in here the first time I tried to use this software or not. But here goes an update anyway.
I have worked in industry controls for years and years. Have programed in many platforms that are common in industry. Most of them are PLC and do not have anything to do with CNC. Currently I am employed by 2 companies one of which I am half owner in. That company owns two milling machines and four lathes. The other company makes food products and actually is profitable. I own none of it.
The company that I do own part of is called Industrial Technicians and was doing service for industry as far away as Jamaica for a while. Then a nasty divorce forced me to seek steady employment and cut it back. So it is in the rebuilding stage. Before I quit the steady pay check it is my intention to have all the CNC lathes operational. I have already upgraded the Anilam Crusader II mill to Camsoft. An expansive mistake I do not wish to repeat. While having quick technical support at hand was very nice the program just does not seem to meet my needs. I am looking forward to learning the exciting rich features of Mach software. Just watching the videos has awakened me to the power of this platform Wow. Cant wait to get into the roots of this thing. However I am going to need a tennney tinnney bit of help. LOL

Looking forward to getting to know all of the folks here and learning from you all

Thanks Jimmy
Ride safely I need all my friends

Hi all
The DMC-1860 card did the trick with Mach3 but I am having trouble with the plug in. Cant seem to be able to get spindle output from my 3rd axis on a turn program. Also the estop is not working. I have read all the documents posted about the configuration of the plug in but it does not say how to set up a 0-10 v sig for spindle control without an encoder on it. Also it says to use inputs that do not exist in the Mach3 inputs configuration. Is there a new document that describes how this plug in works. I read that it uses the data record for input and can understand that. How does it and what does it output to the controller. Does it sent Galil commands? I need HELP
Thanks in advance

Thank you sir. Also I was able to dig around and find my other answers about 1500 Galil. Looks like I am going to have to switch over to my 1860 board.
