Clayton

I have looked and there is one relay only, the one on the Right Hand side. The one to the left is vacant.

Well have learned a lot, got hold of the supplier and he says that buyers need to 'special order' from the factory prior to buying if you want Mach3 RS485 control.

I have purchased and fitted the MAX485CSA as suggested and all is working well. I did have to load some NC code to get it going, but I think that may have been because of the minimum start up speed issue? Will learn more no doubt!!! Thanks Alll for your guidance

Like many others on many forums I have just spent my weekend and many evenings attempting to get my new CHEAP 2.2Kw Spindle and Huanyang VFD working with Mach3 using RS485 and Matt Zee's plug-in.

As it has been discovered by others that the RS485 chip (IC U4) is missing form many units purchased by forum members.

Be aware of this, If you plan to only use the VFD with manual or switched control that is OK, If you plan to use RS232 to RS485 for control then you not be able to do so.

I thought I should highlight this shortcoming by starting a new link and hopefully save many hours of wasted research by others!!!!

Good Luck

Steve

Hi There, have just spent all day trying to setup my new Chinese spindle and VFD.  I desperation started to read the forums and Thank heavens found this thread, now I will get some sleep tonight.

Am using a http://www.trycom.com.tw/TRP-C06.htm and getting the same results, no feedback from the VFD and Estop a few seconds after spindle start.

Is there an update coming to the Plug-in ???

Thanks Steve

I am sure these questions have been asked and answered many times in this forum, but I cn't find the answer I am looking for.

New home built 3 axis machine I have it up and running and have spent many weeks tuning and cutting. I have two questions.

1   What are some general guidelines for adjusting the driver current output. Using a 36v supply, 7A drivers on 3v 5A stepper
( how do i set the current adjustment, do you load the motors? )

2   Micro stepping - Which one should I use? The drivers I am using have 1, 2, 4, 16 micro-steps.
( curently setup with 16th steps and runs smoothly but maybe lacks power/ torque )

Any general comments greatly appreciated

Did you find the FREEHOLD was the best way to acheive Z height adjustments, or is there a better way?
