So 2ghz with  2gb of ram is not fast enough. Point is the motors move at their best and correct speed when the mouse moves not when it is still. I've got a mouse because there are no cheap touch-screens available. Should not happen as it shows a conflict so somethimg wrong. It only does it on Mach not anything else. If you need to do anything like click one of the buttons on mach it is not good as it keeps speeding up. There must be an answer somewhere.

FAQs / mouse movements

Hi Ali,

While running code or jogging the motors speed up if I move my mouse then slow back down whem I stop moving it. Mouse and keybd are ps2. Computer is a clean install of win xp pro and mach3. All inputs and outputs in mach3 have been turned off except the motor step and dir outputs. I have no limit or home switches fitted. Why is this happening and what can I do please?

Regards

Julian.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Motor problem

Use the motor tuning to turn down the velocity of the motors. May be trying to force them too fast. Turn down to 50 then try. If it works gradually increase.
I had the same prob. Some instructions on the net say start highest but then you exceed the motors max speed. Start low and slow.

Hi,

I set mine up near enough then used the auto calibration on the diagnostics page. I clamped a digital caliper onto the axis i was testing. Once the auto had got as close as it could and was alternating each side of the movement I went back to manual setting in the motor tuning section and made very small changes until on the auto test run I was getting the correct movement. To avoid any automatic update just leave the units moved result box at zero. Now on a move of 25mm I get 24.99 to 25.01 which is probably near enough.

Julian.
