Hello,
I've just joined the forum!
I'm interested in anything thats got wheels or an engine from a clock to a an F1 car. particularly Stirling cycle engines. I teach engineering skills to the 14 to 21+ age group including fitting, turning, milling electrical and electronics to "A" level standard (UK qualification) I have a small home workshop with all the usual hand tools and measuring equipment, plus a bench drill, small lathe and a CNC milling machine.
The milling machine is the main reason for me joining this forum as it is now getting a bit long in the tooth in the electronics department, the mechanical bits are fine, very accurate and stable but the MTBF for most of the components is approaching fast. Having replaced several of the major assemblies and a multitude of individual components over the past couple of years.
I am looking to upgrade, particularly the computer hardware (currently Z80 based) and the software looking at MACH3 as a potential replacement.
So any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated.
