PoKeys / Re: CNC Keys version 2 sneek peek.........
« on: May 31, 2011, 08:03:54 PM »
First impression is it is a little busy but once in use the keys would become easier to find.

Thought about adding three pots to the panel for - Feedrate override, Jog Speed (handy for setting up work) and Spindle Speed?

All fixed
Added a momentary switch to reset FRO
Changed the on/off switch to lock out the pot or enable the pot input.
This seems like a reasonable solution to me because if the on/off switch is activated then the FRO is not changing state - it retains the last override rate from the pot and it is rock solid steady. I was getting a very small 0.01% variation as the pot state was refreshed.
Then once the on/off switch is active the momentary switch can then reset the FRO to 100%.
cheers,
Rod

Hi Boris,
I really want to be able to just hit a button to reset and hold the FRO at 100 per cent.
Any ideas?
thanks,
Rod

PoKeys / Help with Pokeys and Reset Feed Rate
« on: December 18, 2009, 12:56:30 PM »
Finally after much reading and trial and error I have got the pot working in Pokeys for FRO.
I want a separate switch on Pokeys to be able to lock the FRO to 100%.
I have got the brain working for this partially in that it stops input from the pot but it does not reset the FRO to 100%

To simplify things if I can get a switch to work to reset the FRO to 100% and keep it there then I can get this working.
I have connected an on/off switch to pin 5 on Pokeys and it is working fine. I have assigned OEM Trigger #1 to port 10 pin 5.
I have created a brain that goes like this
OEMTRIGGER #1 - No-Operation Pass Signal  - terminating to Button Press OEM1014 Reset FRO

This does work if you press the button attached to Pokeys but it does not hold the state. While the button is on you can adjust the feed rate and then it requires you to turn off the pokey button and then back on again to reset it to 100%
Is there any way I can hold the feed rate at 100% while the button is active?

Sorry I have been at this for seven hours and probably have not explained myself well here.

Greg was very helpful running through various combinations and looking at my xml file but it was never resolved.
I put it down to a bug in Mach3 but are in hope it will be fixed.
Let me know if you find a fix.

General Mach Discussion / Joystick Plugin

Hi,
I downloaded and ran the joystick plugin 2.00.035 but it still says version 1 in the config plugin screen and doesn'r seem to have any additional functionality.
Is the link to the download wrong?
thanks,
Rod

General Mach Discussion / Homing and Slaved Axis
« on: March 31, 2009, 05:52:16 AM »
Hi,
I am having problems homing my slaved X axis. I have set it up with A axis and changed A axis to linear.
I am using Refcombination(9) as the command to home.
Lockdown version R3.042.202
What happens is it homes the X axis as it should but no movement at all from A axis once X is homed. Also all the limits are disabled when this is done and I have to hit reset, then rest again to activate the limits. I have skewed the gantry to make sure A axis is not leading X to the limits and no difference.
Obviously I have checked and rechecked the settings but can't see the obvious yet.
I have attached my xml file and would really appreciate somebody helping me with this.
thanks,
Rod
