I have had issues with setting up the home switches,, from what I have found it would appear it needs both the usb 5v and the 12-24v hooking up. so will be looking where to find a suitable outlet on the machine

x and y move but grumble real bad. as if steps and acceleration is to fast.have tried all sorts of combinations of speeds
Unable to tune them in,,
Migjht be native units not set to metric
Have read it  may be worth trying a desk top computer rather than a laptop..
I wanted to go the laptop way, so I can do away with all the cables and extra stuff a laptop has built in

Have looked for some time on the net to find out where the GND for the stepper drivers go without result.

I checked on another more basic board found on that board all gnd pins are connected.

So with that in mind, I have conected the three stepper gnd wires to the gnd where the 12-24v can go in..

I am not sure why it has a 12-24 v in,unless its for the 0-10v spindle control

Hi to all,
I have purchased a new Bob.

I am not sure where to put the GND's from all the three stepper drivers.

There only appears to be the one GND on the side of the board where stepper drivers are conected.

Are GND all common and conected as if they are one.

Thanks for looking

That will be what I have done then.
So what is the point of the handles, is there a mod to make them safe to use.

Thay all have plugs on them would it be safe to use them unpluged,

FAQs / Tuirning Stepper motors by hand
« on: July 30, 2016, 07:43:34 AM »
Hi to all
Can turning stepper motors by hand when power is swictched off destroy the electrics.

I did a short cut turning the stepper handles.with the power off,,, a few monrths later went to use it again under power to find it would not work,,,I noticed that the LED on the driver board lit up when I turned the steppers,, could this have blown the driver board up..The steppers used to buzz when on, now buz then go silent..
In my haste to get the machine working again I purchased a repalcment 3 axis driver, but cant help wondering if I should not turn them by hand,, but have seen loads on the net with handles.

Many thanks,
The bit I don't get is if they are the wrong way round why does it not fight itself to turn at all.
I will make the conections and see what happens,

I have manual handles on the back of the steppers,
When clocwise or anticlock is discused in the set up, what is the correct way.when veiwed from the rear of the steppers
Cheers
