LazyCam (Beta) / Re: Lazycam pro and MP1000 THC post
« on: July 15, 2007, 11:38:49 AM »
Brian,

I am on holidays from working right now. I will try to post a gcode sample as soon as I can. I am a fairly new at this.
Maybe I am going in the wrong direction here, as when I use Sheetcam, there is a post processor for the THC which I can enter the Z axis torch control.

I have set the THC post in mach 3, but do not have it for LC. I realize now after I bought the license, that it is more for mill. I am still playing with LC and there are great features in the program.  It does seem to work well for just plasma.
I am eagerly awaiting for the finals of the program so as to be able to have the documentation when it is ready.

So far on my learning curve, I have learned alot from everyone here and on the forums. Just keep up the good work, and I will continue to learn as we go along.

Thanks

GG

Thanks Chip for your response.
I have figured out the Z hight. I was just wondering if there was a post for plasma with the THC?

Thanks

LazyCam (Beta) / Lazycam pro and MP1000 THC post
« on: July 03, 2007, 08:46:03 PM »

Well I am finally trying LC pro and was wondering if there is a post for the THC MP1000. I have tried the default post for plasma, and I get a Z hight of 60.000in the G code. If there is a post for even plasma , where will I find it. Can't seem to find much for plasma posts on a search

TIA  GG

Brian,
Everything I send to you gets bounced back. I have tried every mail program I have. Seems everything is bouncing today
Go to Yahoo mach1mach2 files section, GG Test. Files are there.

Thanks

N0000 (Filename: Cowboy Hat.tap)
N0010 (Post processor: Plasma THC1.post)
N0020 (Date: 5/17/2007)
N0030 G20 (Units: Inches)
N0040 G53

Brian, thanks for your reply.

As far as what is slow, i think mach 3 just runs the 2 different tap files at differenr speeds, this is in simulation mode.

I created one file in sheetcam, the other in Lazycam. The sheetcam tap file runs very quickly on simulation mode. I think this is just from the post processor in sheetcam vs the default post processor in Lazycam. Of coarse, I could be wrong. Remember, that I am new to these programs and without knowing the proper procedures it is hard to know what is really happening. I will wait for the videos and documentation to come out.

Thanks for your time.

:) Well newbie with LC and have a question seeing as I can't find any documentation yet.

When I want to post G code, and I want to set the post processor (I'm using mp1000) I can't find a post processor. I know that Mach 3 is set for the right post but how about LC. It says can't find the PP and then uses default.

The problem is (with no machine hooked up) LC send to g code, funs sooo slow yet if i do the same dfx with sheetcam, the process just goes so fast. Is this just because it is in simulation mode or an i lost? This is licensed pro version.

Thanks

GG
